10 Years & Ketchup

We had a great weekend! It was my 10-year high school reunion and it was so much fun! I got to visit with people I hadn't seen in years, share lots of laughs, talk about babies, have way too much fun in a photo booth, enjoy tunes from the 90's...a great way to celebrate 10 years! Morgan did an awesome job planning this gathering!

Our mators and cucs are in the ground! :) I'm very excited about watching them grow...

Poor William is struggling with a little separation anxiety. When I picked him up from the nursery Sunday morning, they told me he did pretty good but ate lots of cookies and goldfish! :) That just made me laugh...whatever it takes girls! I'm just thankful I can sit through the service without having to keep my tiniest BF occupied [BF, as in best friend...that's what I'm calling him right now!]

We wanted to put posts in the ground yesterday to build a little picket fence around our garden. But because of my inability to file important documents [hmmm...like, paper work for TAXES], I spent the entire afternoon scouring my house for piles of bills, paper work, tax documents...soooo not what I had in mind for my Sunday afternoon!

Almost forgot about the ketchup...

William was such a trooper running errands with me this morning. So I thought we would have a little lunch date at Chick-Fil-A [since we're BF and all]. Have you seen the new packets of ketchup??? OMG...I LOVE it!

Here's my little date...we shared a meal deal.

I'm loving this time of year...here are my roses... [MMM, I thought you would enjoy this pic!] :)

Oh, Deer!

I came across this cardboard deer from West Elm recently and thought it would look great it in the playroom. Adam thinks that room is too girly and you can't get any more masculine than a deer head so I'm thinking we're in business!!!

This is the image that got me...

I circled the dimensions because that's something I didn't pay much attention to when I made the purchase! :) If you need to pull out your reading glasses, I'll make it easy for you...it's 2 INCHES WIDE!!! We're talking tiny here people! It is Buck, Jr...that should have been my first clue. I was disappointed with the size of my purchase but, on the up, they sent me two tiny deer heads and I had a good laugh when I opened the package.

I spy a deer head...can you see it??? :)

I know there is a better home for this tiny deer where he will stand out and draw the attention he deserves. But for now...he blends in with his surroundings!

There he is...

Happy Weekend!!!

easy blondies

I made these last night... :)

A friend had a baby last week so I'm bringing them dinner tonight. I was so mad at myself for not getting the foil pans to put everything in...BUT it ended up not being so bad after all!

Easy Blondies are SOOOOOO easy and SOOOOOO GOOD!!! I seriously could have eaten the entire pan! Thankfully, these were for a friend so I could only eat two! :) I do not recommend making these if you want to look smokin' hot in your swimsuit this summer...or if you just want to look decent in your swimsuit this summer! This is my warning...they are dangerously good! I got the recipe from Joy's Hope...check it out!

The Garden

We've been talking about having a garden since we moved in the house. But we've also talked about having trees removed, doing a backsplash in the kitchen, fastening door knobs, getting the door bell fixed, installing crown molding, getting the mirrors in the bathroom framed and the list goes on. [my never ending to-do list] So we do a lot of talking...

We hadn't planned on digging up a garden this weekend but my dad rented [in his own words] "killer tiller" and we had to get in on some of that "extra heavy duty" action!

I picked up leaves all afternoon. I have a love-hate relationship with leaves. I like them on the trees but I wish they would stay there. If you came in my backyard right now, I don't know if you would even notice I raked up 10 bags of leaves...that's how many bags are still left to fill. Thinking about it actually makes my arms hurt!

This was William when we fired up the tiller! All SMILES! He loves anything with a motor...vacuum cleaner, dust buster, mower, blower...he loves it! [he also loves lasagna which is all over his face!]

He also loves crackers which kept him occupied while I was bagging leaves!

The backyard lookin' a little red-neck! :)

So, here is where we are right now. It actually looks better than this...I had to stop snapping pics and finish bagging leaves! I'll take more progress pics...we're doing tomatoes, cucumbers and banana peppers. I'm gonna try so hard to keep them alive!!! :)

Dad and Kyle, y'all are the BEST!!! Thanks for all your help!

The Cowboy Birthday Party

The big birthday party was Saturday! I had so much fun planning this party. I started surfing [did I really just say "surfing"] the web for birthday ideas a few months ago and came across a picture of a little boy eating his smash cake with a bandana tied around his neck. SOLD...cowboy party for William! :) Here are some pics from the big day...

William was actually sleeping in the pack 'n play in my closet [we had family in town...don't worry, there is an air vent in the closet!]. Not only did he miss half the party but I wasn't able to get my "party clothes" out of the closet before he went down. So I was sporting the work out shorts...for half the party! :)

I love that I have two phones and the monitor in my hands!

A few of the details...

We did a lot of playing...

And eating...

And more playing...

We tried getting a kids shot...

We ate cake...

And the birthday boy had more fun with the wrapping paper and tissue than his presents! :)

What a special day for my little William!!!

My Buckaroo turned ONE!!!

It's been a long time and I'm finally posting!!! Let me say...it's been hectic in the Haddox household!

To make a long story short...

We got sick. We had a birthday. We got sicker. We had a birthday party. We got sick AGAIN!

So here goes...

My poor little man started running a fever Sunday morning [his birthday was Monday]. So we actually went to the doctor on his birthday. So not fun!!! And for the 14th time [not really the 14th but sure felt like it] we were told to wait it out...everything looks good. WHY?!?!?!?!? But that nasty fever did not hold us back from celebrating his special day!!!

We started the day off with a doughnut and the happy birthday song! Tiny confession...I went to the dentist early Monday morning and on the way home picked up doughnuts for the birthday boy. There is just something funny about getting doughnuts after you've been to the dentist. Here's the birthday boy with his doughnut...

And we didn't stop with the doughnut...After dinner, he also got a cupcake! And boy did he tear into that cupcake!!! I think it's safe to say he's a chocolate lover...just like his mamma!

He's not looking under the weather at this point. It really started going downhill on Tuesday. Let's just say I went through a bottle of infant tylenol last week! Yeah, it was a rough couple of days.

Went back to the doctor Wednesday and, because his birthday party was Saturday, she gave him a shot and put him on meds. Wednesday night I was praising the Lord for modern medicine! And by Saturday, my little man was back in business and ready to P-A-R-T-Y! He did sleep through half his party! ha! [poor guy...he was still recovering from a week of sleepless nights!] The birthday party was an absolute blast! The weather was perfect, Sam's pulled through once again with their precooked brisket :), we had cupcakes, cowboy hats, cold lemonade and strawberry Abita. I am so thankful for the wonderful people in our lives...the fellowship could not have been any sweeter! I went to sleep Saturday night [completely exhausted] with a very full heart.

And guess who woke up Sunday morning with no voice...ME!!!!

Here's the birthday boy... Oh, I could just eat him up!!! :)

Something Funny

Adam told me a really funny story last night...it involves him and his name. ok, I thought it was funny...others may not! :)

So, yesterday he went to a fundraiser and he was chatting it up with some guy...apparently this guy graduated from LSU in the 70's, yada, yada, yada. The conversation was wrapping up and Adam handed him a business card. The guy looks at it and says, "Hey, man...how do you pronounce your first name?" For real???!!!! We're talking A-D-A-M...it's the first name of all time! All I have to say is thank goodness I wasn't there!!! When I get the giggles, they don't stop and then the tears start and it pretty much goes downhill fast! I had a good laugh over this last night! :)

I linked up with Kelly's Korner...Show us your life -- what do you make! I am having so much fun designing invitations these days!

And I just finished designing a friend's website header...check out The Mommy Teacher! She offers some great advice and practical activities you can do with your little ones to get them ready for school.

It's the WEEKEND!!!!!!
