Life in 2012

In the past three days, I have had to completely strip my bed... sheets, matress pad, everything. The newest addition to our little family has had machine gun explosions all over me and the bed. I so wish I were kidding... I never experienced this with William so this was new for me. It happened once at 3:30 in the morning. Yes, 3:30 AM... a time that is only meant for dreams and REM sleep!! And I must confess... I changed my clothes and put a beach towel over my side of the bed. Life with a newborn. :) Sleep or clean sheets?!?!? Other than those two recent incidents, my sweet little Stewart has been an angel baby! Not sleeping through the night yet but very close.

In 2012, we have

had a baby... Stewart Kinnison Haddox arrived April 4th.

planted a garden and watched it grow...

[i love this pic... my sweet little helper]

Had a paint party with friends...

And LOTS of summer fun...

I am gonna try so hard to post more often... we'll see how that goes!

Happy Summer!!!

Already December...

I'm playing catch up again! We've been staying busy around here the past few weeks... William got tubes, the Tigers are going to the National Championship, we made a trip up to Farmerville, I hit up a few spanking good garage sales, we found out we're having a little BOY in April, we had a family photo shoot, we've gotten to see a lot of A-Ho-Ho (this is how William refers to Santa), hosted a cookie exchange, been to an ornament exchange [what else can you exchange at a Christmas party???] it's been a good sort of busy!

Last night I was going through old posts and jotting down memories in William's baby book and noticed I have absolutely nothing for several months of his life. And let me tell you... this pregnant brain can't remember what happened yesterday, let alone three months ago.

William is 21 months... Where to start??! He's 27 pounds and just about the pickiest eater ever! [This drives me C-R-A-Z-Y] He will not try anything new or let me feed him anymore. I like his independence but I don't know how to convince him cornbread dressing is good. Ever since the tubes, he has been talking a lot more... his favorite words lately are truck, car, pops and A-Ho (Santa). We've been working very hard on please and thank you... he's getting there! :) All that "terrible two's" talk... it's TRUE! OMG! The boy can throw a temper tantrum... hands up, head back, screaming, temper tantrums. We have not had a public display just yet... I am not looking forward to this experience one bit. He's such a little momma's boy... he runs through the house screaming MOMMY!!! He loves to hide in the pillows on my bed, read books, play timber and fall down, give the more sign, go to BB's house, play outside, it's so fun watching his little personality develop!

So... it's CHRISTMAS!!!! I am just loving every minute of it... the lights, the sounds, all the tasty goodies my friends have brought over! I LOVE this time of the year!!!

Merry Christmas, Friends!!!

Trick or Treating

Trick or treating for William was a complete success!! It took him a little while to warm up but once he realized he got candy out of the deal, he was all over it. We were walking up to one house and I looked down to see an entire Reeses peanut butter cup stuffed in his mouth! I was the child who would save candy for weeks, nibbling here and there, savoring every last bite. Not William! His motto...git er done! So in the midst of his sugar high, I was somehow able to sneak those Mickey ears on his head and, y'all, he kept them on for at least 10 minutes! People, we had a mini Mickey Mouse on our hands!! :) And, of course, while the ears were on, we got a few comments about how cute "she" looked! Are you kidding me??!! Mickey is the boy...Minnie is the girl... a dress or bow was not involved in this costume! Anyway, you know who [the hubs], did not like those comments one bit so he took the ears off. Bummer, back to answering questions like... "Now, what are you dressed up as tonight?"

Our attempt at getting him to wear the ears...before the sugar high.

Wearing his ears!!! :) Woo Hoo!!!!!!!

I want CANDY!!!

I got CANDY!!!

I didn't know how the night would end with all that sugar in him but he slept great!

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Fall, Y'all...the Party Pics!

I have not been doing a great job taking pictures lately. With that being said, I don't have very many party pics from the Happy Fall party yesterday. :( Although it is poorly documented, there were lots of laughs, good eats, bounce house jumping, pumpkin decorating, pumpkin tossing...overall, a fantastic celebration of my favorite season!

Rebecca came over for the fun.

William trying to sit on a basketball... how long do you think that lasted?? :)

The pumpkin decorating table... the older kids loved it! That made me happy! :)

The sweetest strawberry with her decorated pumpkin.

A few of the little guests.

Once our faces were covered with icing and the meltdowns started, it was time to say goodbye!
Happy Fall Party, we had fun! See you next year! :)

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Ever since I opened my ETSY shop, I get to design all kinds of cute printables for my clients, something I LOVE. But sometimes you just gotta have a party to actually get to use your printables! :) So I decided it was time for a Happy Fall party.

Here is what I like to call the "pretty" party... The party I had by myself with my camera before all the little guests arrived.

We had everything from a spider webbed 7 layer dip to witch hat cookies. I'm so sad I didn't take a picture of either of these items! BOO! :( But the weather was absolutely perfect and we got to chase our kids around the backyard for a few hours! :) We had a blast!! Thanks, girls, for coming over!!! Oh, and in true William fashion, he decided it was time for a nap around noon. He missed out on some of the fun but I actually got to visit with friends so I couldn't complain.

Reba Marie turns 20!

Last week my little sister officially entered her twenties!!! WHAT??!! We're getting old, folks! I have been eyeing this little craft on pinterest for a while now and I thought this was the perfect occasion to use it!

And here is what I made for Rebecca...

This was so easy to make... I used an old formula container, covered it with scrapbook paper, cut a piece of foam to fit in the middle and stuck all the tootsie pops in the foam. And I had some fun straws so I added those in there, too! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE SISTER, I LOVE YOU!!!
